New Mask Update from CDC

The CDC has updated its new guidelines to remove mask recommendations for most of the country. I am disappointed by this there are so many at-risk people that will be impacted by this. The science says 2-way masking is the most effective. You can see my previous post here about it. Even though transmissions rates have gone down since omicrons peak, there are still people dying every day from COVID. Also, many more will have a long-term disability from COVID-19.

You Can Order Even More COVID-19 Tests

Monitor Indoor Air Quality

Recently, I got the Aranet4 which is a CO2 monitor. I mainly got it because I want to start going out more but I wanted a way to quantify if an indoor environment had good ventilation. If there is good ventilation, there is a decreased chance of COVID-19 staying in the air and getting infected. Here is a good post from Professor Jose-Luis Jimenez that explains how it works.

Keeping Schools Safe from COVID-19

Here is a presentation with tips on how to keep schools safe from COVID-19. Since there are a lot of places removing mask mandates, I thought it would be good to share this because there are still kids especially those who are immunocompromised dying of COVID-19 or becoming permanently disabled.

Long COVID-19

My favorite epidemiology blog from Professor Katelyn Jetelina has a series on Long COVID-19 which impacts over 20 million people. The series covers how long covid-19 impacts kids, the heart, and the overall burden from it. I recommend checking it out.
